Kidsoft is not only an information web site, it is also NumeroPro's new software solution for managing a Child care centre or a group of centres. This blog will be focused on the development of the Kidsoft application and will allow us to share with you updates and features that we have implemented into Kidsoft.

One of the things we wanted to achieve with the development of the Kidsoft application is to focus on providing a solution that allows Chilld care operators to spend more time doing the things they are good at and less time fighting their CCMS software trying to provide FaHCSIA with updates. Therefore we spent a significant time conducting analyses of our ChildcarePro customers, as well as customers who have come from other software providers to ensure that we craft a solution that achieves this goal.

The other benefit we have at NumeroPro is we are not just a software developer, we manage centres as part of our service offerings, also the principles of NumeroPro own Child care centres themselves. This coupled with over 20 years industry experience we feel Kidsoft is going to set the bench mark going forward for what a good CCMS compliant solution should offer.

So let me share with you some of the issues we focused on addressing:

1. Many of the CCMS solutions today are either Windows applications (meaning you have to install it on your PC) or they are a hosted application in that they are installed on the Software Providers servers. This method of service delivery is arcaic and extremely onerous for the end user. Therefore the first design element for Kidsoft was to be a cloud delivered service. We have utilised the latest in development methodologies and technologies to reduce the technical requirements of the Child care centre operators and take the focus off whether their PC is good enough.
Kidsoft runs on Windows, Mac's, iPads, Android tabets and just about anything that has a modern web browser and can connect to the Internet.

2. The second key feature to our design was to ensure that we made the interface as easy and intuitive to use as possible, so that you don't need a computer science degree to get simple tasks completed. One thing I found when I started this project was that many of the CCMS compliant software solutions didn't seem to have employed any sort of usability testing. They seemed to have focus on cramming as much information into the smallest space as possible which makes them very unintuitive to use. To ensure we didn't fall into the same trap, we hired designers that have previous experience designing user interfaces to ensure that we could achieve this goal. We think Kidsoft's user interface is a breeze to use and understand.

3. The last design goal I wanted to mention today was the ability to provide fast and responsive updates to user feature requests. Kidsoft being a cloud delivered service means that we can easily and quickly respond to changes that our customers ask for. So if a user interface design does not work or our customers really need a new feature, then we can quickly make the change and deploy it to our whole customer base in literally a matter of minutes. Obviously that comes after testing. This means we can deploy changes without customers having to do a thing or worry they will break their current solution.

These few simple design principles are just the beginning to what makes Kidsoft such a great application. Over the next couple of weeks we will reveal more about the innovations in the development of Kidsoft to provide what we consider to be the benchmark in CCMS compliant software.
